M7 Priest self-propelled gun. Used very effectively during the Battle of the Bulge. They developed it from the M3 Lee tank.

Yep. It's a double derivative at that. It is based on the Ram which was based on the M3 Lee. This has been your useless information of the day.

I was wondering why it had appeared to be a priest with slightly different hatches for no reason, and this is a cogent explanation. It's fun that in both cases they were built by the respective countries' railroad companies... expertise on bogie wheel building and heavy objects-lifting clearly a factor.
